Meet Alexis Chastain

Hello, I’m Alexis! I specialize in working with women who are deeply sensitive to the needs of others, but who may feel overlooked or forgotten in return. If you’ve found yourself consistently giving to others, only to feel your own emotional needs go unmet, I’m here to help you reclaim the care, attention, and balance you deserve.

With experiences as a victim advocate in the court system and training in the dynamics of narcissistic abuse and relational trauma, I’m deeply sensitive to the emotional and psychological impact of these experiences.

My approach is all about lasting change that truly transforms the way you think, feel, and relate to others. We’ll work together to understand the patterns that have been holding you back and create new ways of thinking and acting that help you feel more connected, supported, and at peace. It’s not just about short-term relief, its about helping you build a foundation for long-term healing and growth, so you can move forward with greater clarity, fulfillment, and a deeper sense of self.

What would therapy look like?

Using a psychodynamic approach, I work to uncover the underlying patterns and past experiences that influence current behavior and relationships.

To better explain this approach, imagine your mind as a colossal, ancient library. This library has countless floors filled with books, each containing memories and experiences from your life. Some books are at the front of the library, easily visible, well-organized, and familiar. These represent your conscious thoughts and feelings, the ones you engage with every day. For example, you might find a book about a cherished memory that sparked your love for a favorite hobby. But as you venture deeper into the library, you’ll discover older, dusty books—some may even be hidden in locked vaults beneath the floor. These represent your unconscious mind, memories, and experiences you might not be fully aware of. One of these books might tell the story of a time you felt neglected, which has shaped your life in ways you don’t realize.

Creating a safe, supportive space where you feel truly accepted is my greatest priority. Together, we’ll gently explore the library of you, uncovering and examining these hidden books. This foundation of trust allows us to explore your experiences deeply and work toward meaningful, lasting change. By understanding how your forgotten stories influence your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors today, we can foster healing and personal growth.
